If you dont want your work displayed; dont submit it. Submitting work to green-planet implies and indicates that green-planet has permission to publish it on the website, although we will delete any identifying features, unless permission is expressly given to publish the author's name.

Students work:

Your work goes here....!

The following homework projects were submitted by (C.T.), a Yr 8 student from St Parick's School in Waimate, South Canterbury.

This student received a Green Planet Merit certificate for this

The following project recieved a Green-Planet Excellence award (on 25/09/09).

There are several more pages that go with this project , including a very well designed quiz and a list of reference points. A very well made submission.

The following is a poetry response to one of the language tasks

Poetry task

Peaks

From the top of them you can see the whole world

They are like walls made by giants blocking out the wind

They are covered in snow, as if it is a blanket keeping them warm

They tower over you like the sun but keep it at bay

They watch you like big eyes wherever you hide

They are like rough seas breaking in to high waves

They are like a ignoramus staircase leading to heaven

They are mighty, strong, large, amazing things

They start off as a hill, but turn into a mountain

They keep countries safe, letting no waves in

But their most hated enemy is water. It eats at them until they

crumble down in to mounds of dirt

They make the world amazing and full of discovery

Without them the world would be a flat and boring place

The following pictures are snapshots of certificates that one school has created to "recognise" and "acknowledge" those students that complete and submit homework tasks. It is also an incentive for other students to participate in the programme. Remember; the homework should be voluntary!

You can download the MsWord versions of each certificate by clicking on the link under each photo.

Hey! Please dont be "miserable" when you print these. Use photo-quality paper and a colour printer. Dont print them on coloured paper, or in black and white.

Green Planet: Whats wrong with planet earth?

Global Warming: Is the debate heating up? Is global warming all that they promised it would be? Is it really that bad? Disagree? Tell us what you think then. Don't be a fence sitter. Have an opinion. Have your say. Email us here and state your case.

So what if they drill for oil in the Antarctic? Wouldnt that be great if they find a big heap there? Then cars would be cheaper to run and there would be a heap of jobs down at the Antarctic and they could keep workers warm by burning some of the oil as they bring it out of the ground. Disagree? Tell us what you think then. Don't be a fence sitter. Have an opinion. Have your say. Email us here and state your case.

Conservation? Isnt it natural for species to disappear? Why fight the inevitable? Why pour good money into trying to stop the forces of nature? Disagree? Tell us what you think then. Don't be a fence sitter. Have an opinion. Have your say. Email us here and state your case.

Plants are a dime a dozen arent they? Why waste money on protecting fancy weeds and flowers when people are dying on this planet from lack of food? Disagree? Tell us what you think then. Don't be a fence sitter. Have an opinion. Have your say. Email us here and state your case.

Why restrict the right of Amazonian Indians to sell their native trees destined for furniture manufacturing in Europe. There is plenty of trees in the Amazon rainforest and nobody really cares about them. Its just one of those trendy issues isnt it? Disagree? Tell us what you think then.

Seabirds and dolphins get caught in nets all of the time. It's just a part of how it is. Why stop trawlers and set netters from working and providing food and jobs when the dolphins and oversized seagulls will eventually learn to leave the nets alone? Disagree? Tell us what you think then. Don't be a fence sitter. Have an opinion. Have your say. Email us here and state your case.

Come on in, the water is just fine. Make a comment. Give us your opinion. Email us with your views on one of the above topics, or on one of your own. Don't be a fence sitter. Have an opinion. Have your say. Email us here and state your case.
